X squared + 3X = X (X+3) EVERYTHING IS MULTIPLIED
X squared + 3X = X squared + 3X
if you use your [2X(X+3)] method you wold get 2X squared + 6X
BECUSE; 2X is multiplied by everything in the ( )s so 2X times X is 2X squared and 2X times 3 is 6X so there for that would = 2X squared + 6X
XTo the power of 2 + 3x = 2x(x + 3) the 3x = the (x+ 3) part and x squared stays outside of the (). And I used it as 2x(x + 3) not [2x(x +3)] therefore making it NOT multiply.
